As I'm sure everyone saw because An has already mentioned something earlier, but I thought that I would also throw another reminder out there. We are celebrating her birthday at the beach tomorrow and would love for all of you to be there. Just as we had hoped, the weather has held strong - it should be a beautiful day.

We had a lovely day celebrating with our family. Gran, as always, is concerned that I'm not actively contributing to society. I could be the most successful man in the nation and she would still think this of me. It's rather heartwarming that she still believes me to be the rebel thirteen year old I once was.

Ah, is it July already? Hmm. The month has flown by. It's rather troublesome.

[ My gift to An was a trip down home later in the summer and I was wondering if you would like to join us. We would love to have you come along. We don't have solid plans yet other than going to Kumamoto, but I was thinking that it might be nice to spend a day or two in Fukuoka by the beach, as well. How does that sound to you? ]

Best of luck to those who are playing at Wimbledon. We will be cheering you on every step of the way.

My grandmother is a bit different than most in that she's actually quite... how can I put it. Spirited, despite her age? I take after her in many ways.

I understand. Life is like that, it seems. We spend so many young years looking forward to being three or five or ten or twenty, that by the time we have reached adulthood we're ready for life to slow down and it doesn't. Interesting, isn't it?

No, I understand. My grandmother is also quite spirited still, and my memories of my grandfather are of a very powerful man.

Time always goes quite quickly for me. Maybe it's because I always have fun? It's not too bad.

I'm glad that you have such memories. Is your grandmother still in Okinawa?

Ha! Ultimately, having fun is what's important. That means that life never gets boring. What is it in particular that you do to have fun?

Yes, she lives in the family home there and demands the extended family come and visit her, to make sure we all stay in Okinawa.

I just keep myself busy and social for most of the time. University takes up a lot of my time and then it's just making sure I fill the rest up as well.

I’ve been led to believe it is customary of grandparents to expect above and beyond of their grandchildren, so that sounds par for the course.

Truly? Perhaps it’s because my tournament schedule had me quite hectically traveling around before I started my current studies but I’ve been finding the past month quite tranquil.

I don't think she'd ever say it to your face. I think the only people she compliments directly are Rei and myself.

Isn't it funny how that works? I think it has something to do with being from the south. We're very prideful and if someone does happen to leave, it makes us wonder why they could ever leave. Of course, this brings up the question as to why I remain in Tokyo, but here we are.

That makes sense to me. That, and you are very close to Eishirou and Kai, so I imagine that eats up a large chunk of time.

Wow, no, bro, nothing troublesome about July! Thoyugh I agree that this year is going fast, like how is it going faster than the last few years?? But I can tell my parents, that I'm like one year older again soon and then maybe they'll stop acting like I'm a little girl in a few years. ...unless they just keep doing that until I'm like old and maybe married and then they still never stop.

I would be far from surprised. That said, my grandmother was/is just as much of a troublemaker as I am, so she likely just sees her reflection when she looks at me.

Isn't that interesting? Perhaps with preparing for An's birthday, exams, a couple of school projects, and the team, it has just been a particularly hectic month for me. I'm glad that it has been smooth sailing for you.

I'll be heading back south after University, but I do really enjoy living here in Tokyo. It just sort of grows on you. The access to shopping helps as well.

I probably don't spend as much time with them as I could. Maybe I've fallen in the trap, of knowing I can just meet up with them at some other time in the future, so I don't need to see them now.

Of course. We couldn't think anything less of An, right? I'm glad that you think so highly of her just as I do.

You will always be their little girl, but they will soon learn that they don't need to worry about you. They've had your brother as their son for lots of practice prior to you. :) Don't wish to grow up so quickly.

I haven't made any solid plans myself, but I did consider moving back home for university. I've always imagined myself settling down in a home off the beach. Tokyo is a lovely city, I do agree. The shopping here is great, especially when you're looking for something more unique.

Ah, I understand how it can be easy to fall into that pattern. I try my best to not do so myself, as things can happen with a blink of an eye. I would hate to miss out on spending time with the people that I love because of something seemingly more important at the time.
